AIDS
The Covenant Baptist Church HIV/AIDS Ministry exists to promote HIV/AIDS education, advocate on behalf of those infected/affected by HIV/AIDS, and effect positive change in the behavior of the African American community in the Metropolitan DC area.  We seek to inform the church and community about HIV/AIDS through the following:

• Our Conversation Center provides a safe space to discuss HIV/AIDS and obtain information about local services and events concerning HIV/AIDS
• Recognize the national HIV/AIDS awareness days: Black Church Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS, National Black AIDS Awareness Day, National Women and Girls Awareness Day, National HIV Testing Day, and World AIDS Day
• Partner with local organizations to conduct HIV 101 workshops and other community events.

ASSIMILATION
Our ministry offers our new members the chance to become part of our Covenant family by assisting them in becoming active members of the church.  We provide information on ministries and activities of the church.  We also share resources and fellowship with other organizations that utilize church space.

BEREAVEMENT
The Bereavement Ministry offers emotional, spiritual, and physical support to church members and regular attendees who are grieving the loss of a loved one.  This ministry may also organize groups to assist with special needs during funeral and bereavement period.

EPIPHANY
Epiphany brings young adults to Christ and keeps them connected to Christ.  Young adults exemplify Covenant's mission of "building an inclusive body of biblical believers."  Many young adults believe the church is only for children and senior persons.  This belief often results in fewer young adults becoming involved in the church.  Epiphany encourages fellowship, prayer and the study of God's word as we explore the relevance of the church and God's word in our daily lives.

FOOD SERVICE
"For I was hungry and you gave me food; I was thirsty and you gave me drink": Matthew 25:35.  The purpose of our ministry is to glorify God by sharing love through the culinary arts and supporting various ministries at our church.  Our goal is to provide meals, snacks, and refreshments for the congregation.

GREETERS
The purpose of the Greeters Ministry is to provide an enthusiastic, positive, spiritual, and friendly welcome to each person entering our church before every worship service and special service.  This ministry is committed to spiritually up-lifting everyone, every time.  As a greeter you:

• Welcome each person entering for worship at CBC in a friendly, spiritual manner
• Provide assistance, information and direction to church facilities and services
• Educated members of the ministry on maintaining positive, spiritual attitudes
• Support the mission of the goals of the church

The activities of this ministry are designed to support the needs of the church and congregation by assisting the Pastors, ushers, deacons, and other ministries as needed.

HEALTH
The purpose of this ministry is to provide health services during church services, events and activities.  Raise the awareness of health issues affecting the African American community, promote wellness and physical activities, conduct health screening seminars, provide CPR training and partner with local health care organizations to educate our community and congregation regarding living a health life.

MEN
The Men's Ministry is committed to strengthening the relationships between our members and the community we serve.  The key areas that the brotherhood ministry lifts up are: fellowship, family, and leadership.  Our vision is to be filled with knowledge of the will of God, with a goal of being "one in spirit active in the body of Christ": Philippians 2:3,4.  We have an indentified mission which is to prepare the men of Covenant Baptist Church for service so that their gifts and talents would be awakened for the purpose of uplifting the body of Christ.

NEW MEMBERS
This ministry is for new and re-dedicating members of Covenant.  Pastors Dennis and Christine Wiley along with our ministerial team will inform new members of our church doctrine and beliefs.  This ministry nurtures our new members as they prepare for the right-hand-of-fellowship and receiving full membership in Covenant Baptist Church.

PASTOR'S AID SOCIETY
The purpose of the Pastors' Aid Society is to assist and minister to our Pastors in every way possible.  We offer our prayers, encouragement, and general support.  By supporting our Pastors, we make it possible for them to better serve the Covenant family and the surrounding community of which we are all a part.

VISITATION
We are responsible for ensuring persons on the sick and shut-in list are visited, whether at home or in the hospital.  While visiting our members, we pray for them and with them, talk and especially listen to their concerns, provide encouragement and cheer, inform the Pastors and the designated Deacon of special needs discovered during the visitation.

Sister-to-Sister

• Empowering - We will plan events that will empower the women of Covenant Baptist Church and our community.
• Connecting - We will create opportunities to bridge the age gap within our church and bring youth, young adult, and mature women together.
• Informing - We will educate and inform women about their health and ways to heal.
• Reaching Out - We will reach out to and share our time with those in our community residing in assisted living and 24-hour care facilities.
• Learning - Teaching and studying God's word as sisters in Christ, learning how to interpret God's word for everyday life.
